Terms of Use
1. What Boardcall is
Boardcall is software that runs on your own computer. It lets a panel of AI advisors debate a decision you bring and returns a scored verdict. The advisors are simulations built from public work. They are not the people they are named after (see the Disclaimer).
2. Your licence
Ruben Vis gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Boardcall for your own business decisions, for as long as you keep to these terms. You may not:
- copy, resell, rent, share, or publish Boardcall or any part of it;
- remove or change the copyright, licence, or disclaimer notices;
- use Boardcall, its code, prompts, advisor files, or design to build a competing product;
- present anything an advisor says as a real statement by the real person.
Boardcall, its name, logo, design and code belong to Ruben Vis. Some parts come from third parties under their own licences; see THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md in the app folder.
3. Buying Boardcall
You buy Boardcall through our payment provider, which sells it to you as the seller of record and handles payment, invoice and VAT. The price on the website includes VAT where it applies. You pay once; there is no subscription.
Boardcall is digital content that you get right after paying. When you buy, you agree that delivery starts at once and you confirm that you then lose your 14-day right of withdrawal (article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code). If Boardcall does not work on your Mac, email us and we will help you get it running.
4. Not professional advice
Everything Boardcall produces is generated by AI for brainstorming and reflection. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax, medical, or other professional advice. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or made up. Check the numbers and talk to a qualified professional before you act. You alone are responsible for the decisions you make.
5. Third-party services
Boardcall uses services you connect yourself, such as Claude (Anthropic) through Claude Code or an API key, and optionally ElevenLabs. Your use of those services falls under their own terms and pricing. Ruben Vis does not control them and is not responsible for them.
6. Your content
Your questions, business profiles, sessions and outcomes stay yours. They are stored on your own computer. You're responsible for having the right to use anything you put in, such as a page you ask the council to look at or information about clients.
7. No warranty
Boardcall is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, Ruben Vis gives no warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Ruben Vis is not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost profit, lost revenue, or lost data arising from use of Boardcall or from decisions made with it. Ruben Vis's total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Boardcall in the 12 months before the claim, or €100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending the licence
You can stop using Boardcall at any time. Ruben Vis may end your licence if you break these terms. When the licence ends, delete your copy of Boardcall.
10. Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Boardcall after a change, the new terms apply.
11. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law gives you the right to go to the court where you live.
